RLI Investors secure development project in Rhine- Main logistics region
RLI Investors (RLI), an independent asset and fund manager and specialist in logistics real estate and the most active investor in logistics property in the German market, has acquired a development project in Büttelborn, Hesse, in the established Rhine-Main logistics region. The purchase, in an off-market transaction, is for the open-ended special real estate AIF “RLI Logistics Fund-Germany II”. The ca. 9,420 sq m logistics building is slated for
completion in October 2019. The vendor is MultiPark Büttelborn GmbH, a project corporation of F&F LandInvest GmbH.
The new building will be constructed on a 15,600 sq m site in the “Darmstädter Strasse Süd” commercial area in Büttelborn. The location has a direct connection to the A67 motorway and the Darmstädter Kreuz (A5/A672) intersection. The short-distance transport routes enable prompt delivery of goods to almost all Central Europe, France, the Czech Republic and Poland.
Around half the space is let on a long lease to WeissBioTech GmbH, a globally active enzyme manufacturer. Most of the remaining space is already under negotiation, with some still available for potential tenants. The sustainable construction method means that the property will receive DGNB ‘Gold’ sustainability certification.
“The favourable geographic location provides optimal conditions for regional, national and international clients in all sectors”, comments Katrin Poos, Managing Director at RLI, on the latest acquisition. “In the past we have acquired properties on a partly speculative basis and have swiftly achieved full occupancy.”
