RLI Investors expands fund portfolio with new property in the Cologne Lowland
RLI Investors (RLI), an independent asset and fund manager and specialist in logistics real estate and one of the most active investors in logistics property in the German market, has acquired a logistics property in Kerpen for the open-end special AIF “RLI Logistics Fund–Germany II”. The Cologne Lowland is one of the most efficient German logistics regions, with a trimodal infrastructure. The vendor is ALCARO Invest GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of OSMAB Holding AG, with which RLI has already accompanied two off-market transactions in the region.
The recently completed property stands on an around 20,000 square metre site in “Log Plaza Wankelstrasse” in the Sindorf district of Kerpen. It directly adjoins two fully-let logistics properties that RLI acquired for the “RLI Logistics Fund – Germany I”. The long-term tenant of the property, which has a gross external area of over 9,600 square meters, is Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Industrial GmbH & Co. KG. The attractive features of the property, apart from the quality of the new building, include good adaptability and the immediate proximity to a junction on the A4 motorway and the Kerpen motorway intersection.
The law firm Glock Liphart Probst & Partner advised RLI on the legal and tax issues of the transaction.
